After reading the following, go out to your pool, open the skimmer cover and REMOVE that chlorine tablet from the basket! WHY???
Here is why. The pH of that chlorine tablet is about 2.9, which is very acidic. When the pool pump turns off, the tablet will continue to dissolve in your skimmer. First it will strip your copper piping. Next time the pump turns on, all of that acidic water will travel through your heater (which has a copper heat exchanger). Then it will go through your solar system, stripping even more copper.
Where does that copper go? It is being deposited onto your white pool walls as green stains. No matter what color or texture your pool plaster is, copper is still being deposited. This can and will color your hair green.

Solution
Place the floater inside of a floating ring, which will help to maintain a safe distance between the floater and the skimmer, thus saving your heater, pipes and solar!

* For calcium hypochlorite, lithium hypochlorite or sodium hypochlorite
** For sodium dichlor, trichlor, chlorine gas or bromine
*** Pool and Spa heaters can scale above this ideal range and fail!
Authors note:
By maintaining your FREE chlorine level at 3.0, you will find that you are shocking less, thus saving on extra chlorine and NOT buying algaecide for a green pool. You're not only saving MONEY, you're also saving TIME by not cleaning the filter as often. This alone has covered your cost for: Be Pool Smart and more!
